Film and Imaging QA / Technical & Training Certifications Vegas Editor since 2001 (Sonic Foundry Vegas Video 2) Ok, so I have imported my VLog Vgamut footage and went to Project Media and right clicked on my clip and went to properties, and for Color Space I selected "Panasonic V-Log - V-Gamut" but now I'm wondering what do I set for the view transform in project properties? rec 709 (ACES) for 709 SDR and/or for HDR, in HDR10 mode, do I select Rec 2020 ST2084 1000 nits (ACES)? Also, do I even need to use the official Panasonic LUT for 709 output at any point in that process for SDR? V-Gamut įormat/Info : High Efficiency Video CodingĬodec ID/Info : High Efficiency Video Coding In the other details in mediainfo it shows Vgamut as the gamut and in VP17 it shows flat like it's my HLG 2020 footage so I think Mediainfo is lying. Ok so I just discovered my VLog (not V-Log-L) from my Panasonic AG-CX350 records in VGamut while in Vlog, dispite MediaInfo saying Rec.709. If I could delete this thread I would but I'm just posting this here in case you have the same question. I got an email back from Panasonic's pro department about the color space/gamut and they said it's rec.709 (and that the V-Log is the only way to get full range color values out of the camera), just as it's said in the media info. How I get the default VLog-L clip (I mean the original clip) on the preview window?įrom the above picture, if I set preview to "Left 50%" I should see the destination LUT on the left (it's what I see) but on the right I should see the original clip in its color space.EDIT: Sorry for the drama about the sample video. Unfortunately while I edit the filter, the preview layer is always the broken Rec.709. I tried to stack two Primary Color Correction filters: the first one with the output as the source (basically do nothing) the second with the Rec.709 as output. My preview is useless because I get the Rec.709 broken conversion as a default layer. I set the color space from Panasonic VLog-L to the Panasonic LUT Vlog_to_v709. In my case i would expect to see my clip with 50% of the frame with the LUT applied and 50% with the original VLog-L clip. Using a Color correction filter I'm used to check my changes via the Preview layer (e.g.I downloaded a original Panasonic LUT for conversion from VLog-L to V709 and things got better (but Gamut is still a bit off). What's wrong? Is it the Edius default LUT that is buggy? The Rec.709 conversion has colors completely off.Įvery clip has strong green or cyan cast.Maybe I'm missing something but here my questions: I apply a Primary color correction filter and Edius recognize correctly the Panasonic VLog-L color Space and automatically apply the Rec.709 color space. Once imported into Edius, before starting my CC, I would like to convert them in Rec.709 color space via a LUT. I'm editing several clips H.264 4:2:2 10 bit VLog-L from a Panasonic GH5. ![]()
